Memory Tree Event
Journey Through Loss of a Young Child Society supports bereaved mothers who have experienced the loss of a young child. This group will be hosting their annual Memory Tree Event for bereaved parents, siblings, extended family and friends who would like to decorate a tree in memory of children who have passed away.
Memory Tree Event:
Sunday, December 2, 2018, 1:00 pm – 3:30pm
Alberta Children’s Hospital - 4th Floor Conference Rooms
During the event, each family is invited to place a small ornament/photo of their child on the tree in their memory, which is followed by a candle lighting ceremony and refreshments. Crafts for the children will be led by volunteers. Once decorated, the tree is placed on the second floor of the Alberta Children’s Hospital for viewing during the month of December through New Year’s Day.
If you are unable to come to the event, you are welcome to hang an ornament on the tree at any time during the month of December. The tree will be taken down the first week of January. Any ornaments remaining on the tree at take-down will be kept for safekeeping by the Society.
