Thank you to everyone who attended our 14th Annual Memory Tree Event at Alberta Children’s Hospital on December 3, 2017. 35 people attended this year’s event; participating in the tree decorating, candle lighting, kids’ crafts and sharing over refreshments afterward. We are honoured that you chose to remember your child and share your stories with us. We will hold you and your children in our hearts this Holiday Season.
Add Your Own Ornament
If you missed the Event, you can still add your special ornament to our Memory Tree. We invite all Calgary and area families who wish to remember their child (aged 17 years or younger) by placing an ornament on our tree to do so when between December 3, 2017, and January 7, 2018. The Tree is located across from the resource library on the second floor.
Thank You to Our Sponsors
Once again, thank you to our sponsors and Alberta Children’s Hospital who make this event possible. Because of you, we had a space to gather, candles to light, crafts to do, coffee and other beverages to drink and refreshments to enjoy. We could not host this event without you - thank you.

Ornaments from Previous Years
Thanks to Steel Reef Infrastructure donating a much larger tree in 2016, we are able to place all the ornaments from previous years on the tree. Each year in January on the first Sunday after New Year’s, we take down our tree and quite often it still has ornaments on it. We know that each and every ornament has special meaning, so we carefully pack them away and do our best to take care of them. They will be placed upon the tree the following year.
This Holiday Season, we wish that all grieving families have a safe, caring space to remember their child. If you are finding the Holiday Season particularly difficult, please reach out for help. You are not alone. There are resources available. Visit our Community Resources page for more information.
